@Beaverdale Books

Born to Serve: The Story of a Change-Maker tells the inspiring true story of Dr. Eric Idehen, who transformed challenges into a movement of hope.  From Benin City, Nigeria to corporate America, Eric shares his journey of overcoming struggles, navigating immigration, and founding the Cornerstone of Hope Orphanage, which has impacted over 150 vulnerable children.  The memoir emphasizes resilience, love, and the importance of serving others, encouraging readers to live intentionally and recognize their potential to make a difference.  It serves as a testament that one person’s love can change the world.

Bridging Expectations:  Healing the Divide Between Those Who Give and Those Who Expect unpacks the weight of giving, answering the question of what happens when love becomes an obligation.  Dr. Eric Idehen explores the unspoken realities faced by millions in the diaspora, people silently carrying the weight of family, community, and cultural obligation while trying to survive and succeed far from home.  The book contains powerful stories, cultural insight, and practical wisdom, and highlights the complex web of entitlement, guilt, silent pressure, and strained relationships.

Dr. Eric Idehen is a social entrepreneur, community leader, and servant-hearted visionary whose life journey spans continents and cultures.  Born and raised in Nigeria, Eric emigrated to Europe and later to the United States, where he built a successful career in banking and nonprofit leadership.  A former vice president at Wells Fargo, Eric now dedicated his life to community development and advocacy, both locally and globally.

In 2005, he founded Cornerstone of Hope Orphanage in Benin City, Nigeria, a labor of love born from a personal promise to God.  Since its inception, the orphanage has transformed the lives of over 150 children, providing not only shelter and education but hope and a future.

Eric holds a PhD in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and his work has earned him multiple national and international recognitions.  As a husband, father of four, and mentor to many, Eric continues to inspire through his message of resilience, ethical leadership, faith, and unconditional love.
