When the banker’s son is killed in a bank robbery, the outpouring of love is the last thing he expected. Jonathan Wainwright, the banker in the growing frontier town of Redwood is numb with grief; all he feels is love for Maude Renshaw, a widow who owns the Redwood Hotel. Their friendship turned love affair has grown during the absence of his wife this past winter.
