That’s not exactly wrong, but there’s an implicit helplessness to the idea, a despair that we’ll never be able to make sense of our world, our society, or the forces governing our lives. One of the best antidotes to that feeling is joyful, curious learning, especially about the subjects that might seem the craziest and most chaotic — A.I., mass extinction, and war.
