Uplifting true stories to put a smile on your heart, Heart Smiles features true accounts of incidents that have happened to author Mary Freeman Boardman during her lifetime, so far. Some funny, some uplifting, but all will give you that warm fuzzy feeling that leaves you with a smile on your face and an even bigger smile on your heart.

After serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era, Mary Freeman Boardman published her first book in 1970.   A member of Romance Writers of America, Mystery Writers’ of America, Iowa Writer’s Corner and Tuscaloosa Writer’s and Illustrator’s Guild, Mary teaches “How to Write a Novel” throughout Iowa’s libraries, the Des Moines Public School’s Community Education Program and the Iowa Prison system (a position secured for her by former Governor Tom Vilsack). Mary was born and raised in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  When not writing, she can be found outdoors photographing wildlife or indoors playing music on a variety of instruments including piano, hammered and mountain dulcimer, doumbec, zils, washboard, and bones!
