David Claassen grew up on an Iowa farm, attended Central College in Pella, Iowa, attended seminary, served as a pastor, and is now retired. He published a novel, Kathryn’s Fountain, in which the main character, Kathryn, is a senior citizen living in an extended care facility. He has also published a book of children’s object lessons, Object Lessons for a Year, and Silent Words Loudly Spoken, a book of church sign sayings. His other writings include both fiction and non-fiction books that have been self-published.

David and his wife Diann, who have been married for over 50 years, divide their time between the Tampa, Florida, area to be near their son and his family and Mexico to be near their daughter and her family.
