Jacqueline Astor | Chase It
@ Beaverdale Books
This is not your typical motivational or fitness book. Ever struggle to balance the pressures of work, family, and self-care? Pursuing a fitness goal isn’t as easy or glamorous as it’s often made to look. How can we wake up early to fit in a morning run when we have been up all night with a baby? How can we pick up a sport we loved in high school and not feel discouraged when our bodies have changed? How do we find the time in our busy lives to commit to training and where do we begin to pursue a fitness goal?
Chase It is about finding meaning in your life and discovering that an everyday fitness goal can fulfill a bigger purpose. Jaqueline Astor’s book is a woman’s guide to training, but it is also so much more than that; it’s her life story, advice, self-reflections, and faith journey as she uses her God-given talents to achieve her fitness goals.
Jacqueline Astor is native Iowan and a proud mother. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from Loras College with a minor in Spanish. During college, she competed in swimming, cross-country, and track & field. She is still an avid runner, cyclist and swimmer years, and has been running road races for the past 15 years. Recently she began competing in triathlons including an Ironman competition and has run marathons and many half-marathons. Last summer, she participated in her first RAGBRAI this past summer and is looking forward to future biking events.
Whether it’s giving back to her community by signing up for an event, or saying a prayer to get through a run, she has found that the impossible can be overcome with the help of God. She finds purpose in competing and pursuing endurance events and hopes readers can, too. She says, “amongst the chaos from becoming a parent and financial struggles,” she was able to find peace.
