Jan Hochstetler never envisioned herself as an elementary school principal. When she left her job as a fifth-grade teacher, she was convinced that her career in education was over. Always More to Learn tells her story of overcoming burnout and the unlikely path that leads to a fulfilling new adventure. In telling her story with authenticity and courage, her hope is that we can see that our challenging and even unpleasant life experiences can serve another purpose.

Jan Eichelberger Hochstetler grew up just outside of Wayland, a small town in southeast Iowa. She earned her college degree at ISU and worked as a teacher in various grades at three different public school districts in Iowa, including Des Moines Public Schools and Ankeny. In 2019 she became the first principal of a newly established school, Faith Academy, in Iowa City. Recently retired from education, she is now at home with her husband Dave, outside of Kalona, Iowa. They have two adult children, Dylan and Jenna.

Always More to Learn is her first book.
