Donald Quist, Kali White VanBaale, & Bailey Gaylin Moore | The Past Ten & Thank You for Staying With Me
@Beaverdale Books
Join us for an afternoon of anthologies featuring three fascinating authors, Dr. Donald Quist, Kali White VanBaale, and Bailey Gaylin Moore, as they share their new writings featured in The Past Ten. This new book is based on the Past-Ten.com website created and launched by executive editor Donald Quist in 2017. It features a wide range of responses from parenthood to family issues, professional development, gender and sexual identity, addiction, recovery, illness, natural disasters, war, and more. It includes responses from bestselling writers like Brandon Taylor and Heather Gudenkauf, up-and-coming writers, performers, critics, teachers, and everyday people, all answering the same question, where were you on this day ten years ago?
Bailey Gaylin Moore will also share her new book, Thank You for Staying with Me, that navigates the complexities of home, the vulnerability of being a woman, mother-daughter relationships, and young motherhood in the conservative and religious landscape of the Ozarks. During a collision of women’s rights, gun policy, and racial tension, Thank You for Staying with Me is a frank and intimate rumination on how national policy and social attitudes affect both the individual and the public sphere, especially in such a conservative part of the United States.
Dr. Donald E. Quist is the author of two essay collections, Harbors, a Forward INDIES Bronze Winner and Internation Book Awards Finalist, and To Those Bounded. He is an Assistant Professor of Creative Nonfiction at the University of Missouri. Find him at donaldquist.com and @donaldquist.
