Long May You Run is the fictionalized account of one lowan’s fight with head and neck cancer. It concerns his misdiagnosis, his diagnosis, his cancer treatment-which includes chemotherapy, immuno-therapy and proton radiation therapy-and the side effects of the same. It tells the story of how he goes through treatment and how the treatment affects the rest of his body’s functioning.

T. Patrick Williams is a middle aged lowa lawyer with a small but lucrative practice. The book explores not only his experience as a criminal defense lawyer, but his continuing interest in writing novels about the same–novels he never can quite finish. It’s also the story of his family and how they all faced his cancer.
